STEM News Tip: Comet C/2023 P1 Nishimura

A recently discovered comet may be (barely) visible over the coming days. Comet C/2023 P1, discovered by amateur astronomer Hideo Nishimura, is making its closest approach in the next week. Current estimates of its orbital period are several hundred years, so we won’t likely get a chance to see this again soon, if at all!
