The Washington Post this week has a nice article on the latest developments in the construction of the Nancy Grace Roman Space telescope. They have some nice photos of the hard work of our neighbors over at Goddard Space Flight Center.

The Roman telescope will carry visible and near-infrared instruments, suitable for everything from deep space astrophysics to extrasolar planet-hunting, and is due to launch in 2027. It is named for famous NASA astronomer (and alumna of Baltimore’s Western High School) Nancy Grace Roman, who passed away in 2018 after many decades as a leader in astronomy and astronomical instrumentation.
