The latest issue of Scientific American brings us a feature article speculating on the future of experimental particle physics. It discusses the prospects of different accelerator designs for future projects – big circular accelerators like the LHC, linear accelerators like the proposed ILC, or a plasma wake field accelerator like that proposed at SLAC.
It’s worth a read for anyone thinking or teaching about particle physics in the coming year.
