N1-61: REFRACTION OF LIGHT IN DIAMOND
- ID Code: N1-61
- Purpose: Show how a diamond produces colors from white light.
- Description: A bright point light source with condenser lens and baffle passes through a small hole in the screen and strikes a small mounted artificial diamond. Because of its multiple prismatic facets, the diamond separates the light into its spectral colors, directing much of the light backwards onto the screen.
