- Purpose: Illustrate a form of periodic vibration.
- Description: A mass is attached to the top of a rigid metal rod. Tweak the mass to start the motion. This is a good approximation to SHM with damping. Invite students to discuss how this is similar to, and differs from, the classic examples.
