Purpose: Demonstrate the conditions for stability of an inverted pendulum.
Description: A weighted straw hinged at the center of a loudspeaker is used as an inverted pendulum, which is driven by a sinusoidal wave to the speaker. The effect of variation of the driver frequency and amplitude on the stability can be easily studied.
