Purpose: Illustrate the operation of the gyrocompass.
Description: Compressed air is blown into a nozzle on the side of the gyrocompass for about thirty seconds to give it sufficient angular momentum. The device can then be used to illustrate gyroscopic stability as well as precession, nutation, etc.
