Purpose: Demonstrate transverse and longitudinal wave motion.
Description: A number of eccentric disks support a series of metal rods, and when the handle is turned, transverse waves are created. Longitudinal waves are obtained with bent rods running in a metal guide on a metal base. Turn the handle gently. Too hard and the rods might bend.
