Purpose: Shows that the coefficient of friction does not depend upon the mass of the object although the frictional force does.
Description: Set the empty box on the incline and increase the angle until sliding ensues. Add weights to the box and repeat the experiment. The weighted box begins to slide at the same angle.

Note: When discussing this demonstration, it is important not to confuse the angle the frictional forces are currently acting at with the angle of repose, which is a constant property of the system. A more detailed explanation: pediaa.com/difference-between-angle-of-f...and-angle-of-repose/
